Racing & Crowded Thoughts

Play Video

The nature of police work has periods of boredom punctuated with moments of  sheer terror, excitement and adrenaline dumps in addition to the individual consumption of energy drinks and copious amounts of caffeine. The mind is racing producing "what ifs" and "I should've" thoughts while trying to rest and sleep. The brain just wont shut down and stop producing cognitive activity and tangential thoughts. Sleep is disrupted, disturbed and fleeting. Medical intervention can shut down the racing thoughts and stabilize the sleep to a healthy and restful pattern.
